Pricing & Specifications for the All-New Kia XCeed
Orders for the new Kia XCeed are now open, with cars starting from just under £21,000. The new model slots itself in between the Ceed and the Sportage, offering compact hatchback practicality with mid-size SUV functionality. The XCeed will use the same basic platform as the Ceed, adding a higher driving position, with a longer wheel base and greater ground clearance and a sleeker roof line, similar to that on the new ProCeed.
Starting at entry level with the ‘2’ model at £20,750, you’ll get a pokey 118bhp turbo-charged 1-litre petrol engine. Standard equipment will include 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with an 8-inch touchscreen display and reversing camera equipped with AppleCar Play and Android Auto.
That’s not just it on the ‘2’ in terms of standard equipment. Advanced safety kit will also be included, with autonomous braking and lane keeping assist to keep a third eye on the road for you. A six-speed manual gearbox will be the only transmission in this specific derivative of XCeed, but you can upgrade to the more economical 114bhp diesel engine for £1,250.
Move up to the ‘3’ mid-range model, priced at £23,295 and you’ll have 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch touch screen with sat nav and dual zone climate control. To make things a little easier and a little more comfortable, Kia have added keyless entry and start and Faux leather seats. On this model, a 138bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine is available, with the option to pair it up to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel engine available on this model is a 1.6-litre, offering 134bhp.
As with most new Kia launches, there is a ‘First Edition’ model also available, topping the range. This version of the XCeed comes with all of the bells and whistles possible including high-end paint colours thrown in as standard. Inside you’re treated to a panoramic glass roof, electrically adjusted drivers seat with memory settings, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen replacing the traditional instruments. There is also a high-quality JBL sound system and power-operated tailgate.
The ‘First Edition’ will only be available with the 1.4-litre petrol engine, but will have the option of a manual or automatic transmission, starting from £28,095.
The XCeed is expected to land in dealerships in late August/early September.
