Kia reveals all-new Rio, coming in 2017!

The all-new, fourth-generation Kia Rio is set to make its work premiere at the Paris Motor Show. The 2016 Mondial de l’Automobile is one of the biggest events on the automotive calendar, where guests will be lucky enough to see some previews of different manufacturer’s latest releases.

The new progressive design of the Rio was led by Kia’s design centres in Germany and California, in close collaboration with the company’s global headquarters in Namyang, Korea.

Progressive Exterior Design

Key improvements include:

  • Tiger-nose grille: The new Rio wears the latest evolution of the signature Kia grille, now thinner in height and wider across the front of the car
  • Headlamps: Thinner and more sculpted bi-function projection headlamps, with new U-shaped LED lights
  • More Stable look: The new Rio grows by 5mm in width (to 1,725mm) with design changes give it a greater visual width
  • Lengthened: A more balanced stance is achieved with a 10mm longer wheelbase, a thinner upright C-pillar and a shorter rear overhang.
  • Rear Design: A more upright and near-vertical rear windscreen is accompanied with thinner, more sculpted rear lamps, with a new arrow-shaped LED light signature.

Modern, driver-oriented cabin

Key improvements include:

  • Design Changes: New modern cabin design with a more ergonomic layout, wider appearance and increasing sense of space.
  • Human-machine Interface (HMI): A high-resolution touchscreen powers the Rio’s audio, navigation and new connectivity systems.
  • Upholstery- Available in a choice of black or grey cloth seat, or with black or grey faux leather. A ‘Red Pack’ gives buyers the option of black with red faux leather-trimmed seats.

Production starts at the end of 2016

The next generation will enter production towards the end of 2016 for the UK, with production timings for other regions to be announced closer to launch. It will provide buyers class-leading practicality and safety technology, the latest connectivity features, and more assured and engaging ride and handling characteristics.
